Vintage Find of the Day

As spring approaches I look forward to transitioning my wardrobe to lighter, easy-to-wear pieces. And, this little black dress is exactly that. It is a 1970s vintage lace and ruffle beauty that is meant to flatter with its delicate neckline and belted waist. The dress is unworn and in outstanding condition. At $115 it's a steal and is certain to get you through an array of winter-to-spring events!

Vintage Find of the Day

There is no mistaking that evening shorts are a great look! Here is an adorable fringed pair that might be the best alternative to a little black dress that I've seen in a while. They are a size 6/8 and in excellent condition.

Making it work: Pair these with your trusty black opaque tights (do not steer from black). Take your pick with shoes - an open toe strappy heel, high heeled boots or your favorite booties. Fashion a boyfriend blazer on top (in black) with almost anything underneath. Keep your under layer embellishment free, as any ties or ruffles will interfere the fabulous fringe on your shorts.

Available for $165 at www.marionmercer.com or here.

These vintage 1970s Carrera sunglasses are a great little accent to prepare you for the (approaching) sunny days of spring. The amber frames and lenses would look great against fair skin and brunette hair. They have a wonderful shape and they are in excellent condition.

Vintage Find of the Day

Since watching The September Issue when it was first released I've been keeping my eye out for a faceted topaz necklace similar to the one frequently worn by Anna Wintour. This might be the best version I've seen. Its three strands of coordinating topaz and amber glass stones are wonderful. The shortest strand measures 17 inches. All the stones are in excellent condition.

Make a statement with this piece! Available at www.rmsjewels.com or here.

So unique and so chic. This faceted glass and moonstone choker is a stunner. It would look great paired with stark black in winter or with any assortment of bright dress ups in summer. It was recently purchased from a living estate and is likely from the 1980s. The necklace is in like new condition and the stones have been recently cleaned.

Available for $145 via Back Thennish Vintage on Etsy, or here

I love this colorful piece. It's a vintage 1960s link bracelet with cabachon detail in wonderful colors. It's a little quirky, but a lot stylish. I would wear it with anything and use it to dazzle up a mid-winter look in day or night. It's in outstanding condition.

This brushed gold 1960s Kenneth Jay Lane bangle is incredible. It is in excellent condition with all pave diamonds intact and a wonderfully working hinge. I particularly love the contrasting color of pearl on either end.

Vintage Find of the Day

I'm tempted to post some of the wonderful and bright spring trends that are all over the internet, but it's only early January and I'm sticking to winter finds. This reconstructed 1960s faux fur is adorable. It's ivory color with shades of grey make it an easy neutral piece to layer over any winter ensemble. Dress it up or down - it's fabulous.

Available now for $145 at www.vintagenyc.com.

Making it work: This coat is ideal. It's casual enough (given its shape and knit waist and sleeve cuffs) to wear with skinny jeans and boots for around the town. Stick to wearing it with more subdued outfits for evening - a plain black dress or skinny jeans and stilettos.

I love this dress. It is the epitome of winter chic and would make an excellent choice for a New Year's Eve celebration! And metallic silver looks good on anyone. And, the crystal buttons on the sleeve cuff add an extra touch of pretty.

Ferdinando Sarmi was brilliant and this 1960s black silk chiffon cocktail dress of his design gives plenty of reason why. It's in outstanding condition and the large feathers line the overskirt of the fitted slip style dress. This is a dress you could wear over and over again and enjoy every second of each wear.

Available at www.vintagemartini.com in the 1960s section.
