Out with the old and in with the new. Don't be afraid to totally revamp the look of an inexpensive flea market find or an old quality piece of Granny's furniture. See Chairloom for inspiration and their collection of redesigned looks, at www.chairloom.com.

Enjoy the crisp tailored look of this Pauline Trigere cropped black jacket. Adorned with a large metal buckle at the waist, this piece is meant to naturally flatter and stand out! In outstanding condition - fully lined and beautifully made.
Making it work: Pair this with a wide leg denim pant for day time. Keep the under layer simple - a black turtleneck or fitted tee, and the buckle is sure to get the attention it deserves. Or, substitute it for a basic suit jacket and it will immediately transform your look.

What's not to love about this ultra feminine and cool Robert DeMario necklace. It's a beautiful piece of varying textures and is ever so slightly reminiscent of a present day Tom Binn's creation (only, in gold).
In excellent condition. Check it out at www.vintagetextile.com.

Gloves are one (or two) of my favorite accessories. Now that we're in the thick of fall, it's a great time to start experimenting with different styles. The long, fingerless look is the best. Seen here as a perfect way to stay warm without donning a full coat, and perfectly styled under a short sleeve sweater.
Try your own version - casual or more refined. Play with textures and keep knits for day and leather varieties for evening.

Make time to explore the wonderful collection of work by artist Gary Lee Shaffer on the Lost Art Salon website. His uplifting expressionism is characteristically bold and colorful, like this pastel completed in the 1960s.
Making it work: Use unexpected art to add an element of surprise in your home. This piece would look wonderful in any room, and would be especially eye-catching if paired with more traditional decor. Try it over a nightstand, an end table or in a powder room.
See www.lostartca.com and search by artist to find Gary's work.

The perfect designer LBD. This Valentino original has wonderful detail and is a great piece to kick off your holiday season this year. The back offers a sheer cutout over a low plunging hem. And, the fixed oversized origami flower on the side is pure designer's touch.

Stella McCartney's much-anticipated, 70-piece line of clothing for GapKids will be available at select stores on November 2. I can't wait! I suspect that UK stores will have the best selection. I am determined to find out which US stores will have her merchandise. Stay tuned. I will keep you posted.

The perfect ensemble for fall - wherever you are. Try your own version of one of my favorite Voguettes chic look. Pair a bright fall bottom (be it a mini skirt, cropped pants or a more conservative pencil skirt) with a neutral print top (you can't go wrong with a basic plaid). Add an optional layer with an ivory or grey cardigan. And, top it all off with a fabulous military jacket - which will get you through the entire year of seasons (especially in Northern California).
Looking for a great military jacket? Try your closest H&M for the one pictured above. Also try the Arthur Mendonca version at www.funkylala.com.
Art deco and so chic. This rhinestone clamper bracelet, from the 1930s, is gorgeous and speaks for itself. Its design and sparkle are reminiscent of decades past, but would suit a perfectly fashionable modern woman today. It's a fabulous piece!

This wonderful yellow swing jacket is a collector's item indeed. It's made by Valentino, and comes from one of his secondary lines (that was big in the 80s) called Oliver (after one of his beloved pugs). The jacket's wide collar ( which falls beautifully on the shoulders) and cinched waist and will flatter any frame!
Brighten up the daily school run with his warm, wool jacket and your day will become instantly brighter.

Their portfolio spams the gamut and offers something for everyone, be it a traditional portrait or contemporary abstract. Take this beautiful landscape, for example, painted by Sandra Pratt. Fall in love with this stunning green rhinestone baguette necklace. It is a fabulous accent for fall and would look great day or night. Pair it on top of a black knit for daytime. This might be the coolest and prettiest version of this season's hot OTK boot trend. Made by Dusica Dusica, this Phoebe boot is ultra chic. The soft grey color may come across as daring, but treat it like a trusty shade of black and you'll be the fashion envy of all around you. I promise!
Making it work: Pair with skinny jeans or leggings. Use a boyfriend blazer or cardigan to cover up a bit and dress your look down or up with a casual tee for day, or a silk ruffled blouse for evening.

It doesn't get any better than Flora & Henri for children's and baby clothes. The style and quality of their merchandise is more commonly found across Europe but adored by so many in the US. I would argue that they are America's answer to Bonpoint, only better! For a limited time, enjoy 10% off. See www.florahenri.com for details.
Be inspired by the wonderful tray that Grace Bonney uses under her kitchen dish rack, as seen in the premiere issue of Lonny. Try your own version of usefullness - a catch all in an entry, a proper serving tray, or a decorative piece on a coffee table.

Jackets are great investments and you can almost never have too many. Here's a cool take on the traditional waxed jacket with a very accommodating price tag; the biker jacket by Boden. Casual enough for a dog walk or raking the leaves, yet chic enough for a more stylish, on-the-town ensemble.
Available in UK sizes where a UK12 is an 8; a UK10 is a 6, a UK8 is a 4, etc..at www.bodenusa.com.

Can you resist these metallic baby shoes?! They come from one of my favorite children's store called Elias & Grace, which is tucked into the adorable Regents Park Road in Primrose Hill, London. Take a peek at their online selection at www.eliasandgrace.com and note that they ship to the US (it will cost you).
My favorite wall covering is lattice (the spray painted kind from the lumber yard). When I'm ready to change the fuschia walls in our dining room, I'm hanging white trellis all around.
